This course outcome is to provide basic knowledge of different structures of inorganic chemistry and to provide detail study of properties of noble gases and s block elements. Study of lanthanides and actinides in this semester gives knowledge of their properties and uses radioactive elements and nuclear reactions. Acids and bases and non aquous solvents are the next topics which make the students aware of the acid base reactions and how they are useful in different fields and extraction processes. |

This subject provides knowledge about the limitations of VBT and elaborates crystal field splitting in octahedral, tetrahedral and square planar complexes as well as thermo dynamic and kinetic stability of transition metal complexes.Preparation, properties, nature of bonding in organometallic compounds and metal carbonyls helps to acquire knowledge about the formation of new reagents and catalysts in synthetic chemistry.Studying the structure of haemoglobin, myoglobin, biological roles alkali and alkaline earth metal ions help students in learning importance of chemistry in biological systems |

The bonding models, structure and reactions of silicones and phosphazenes and their wide application enhances the knowledge about silicone polymers which provide bases for many new materials with high commercial potential.HSAB concept explains occurrence of ores and minerals, poisoning of metal catalysts and prediction of formation of various coordination complexes.Electronic spectra of transition metals beautifully explain the existence of colours in natural complexes. Magnetic properties of transition metal complexes help in determining electronic structure and providing understanding of bonding in them. |

At the end of first semester students able to understand all the basic concepts of organic chemistry that too from the scratches like inductive effect,resonance,hybridization and basic structure formation and chemical reactions involved physical and chemical properties of alkanes,alkenes and alkynes. In addition to it, students can easily recognize all the isomeric properties and function of stereochemistry. |
