PG Department of Commerce was established in July 1986 and has been scaling heights ever since. PG Department of Commerce offers Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Commerce degree, which are the most demanded courses of the contemporary academic world. The students have added to its prestige by securing university ranks and high level placements. Highly professional in nature, the course intends to provide a foundation for students who plan to pursue their career in business, commerce, accounting etc. It provides a proficient environment to nurture commerce professionals with a high level of knowledge and competence to effectively contribute to society with commitment and integrity. Department has 9 Industrial visits, seminars and guest lectures are also conducted that enables the students to think creatively and to develop right mindset to meet the challenges of the globalized business environment. To further enhance the employability of the commerce students, the institution started the Add-on CBA (Computer Based Accounting) course since July 2007 in which students are taught various accounting software.  such as Tally, Busy, Wings, Oracle and SAP that has emerged as an evergreen field for a lucrative career option in the field of business accounting thereby matching up to the business demands associated with banking, insurance, stock exchange, mutual funds, taxation professionals to portfolio managers and corporate financial advisors. The department has 9 well qualified, specialized, experienced faculty members that adopts the best teaching practices and imparts premier education to the students. All the faculty members are net qualified and one of them has P. hd. degree also. PG Dept. of Commerce has excellent computer lab (CBA Lab) of its own, specially for commerce students, which is fully equipped with modern IT equipment and networking with Wi-Fi facilty.  Its infrastructure also includes 7 smart class rooms and one staff room. The department has its own library catering to the needs of commerce students. It has treasure of approx. 1000 books on various facets of business and commerce. Our star students Naaz Monga, Deepali and Palak Syal has successfully completed their CA course From ICAI and has become certified Chartered Accountants now. Swati Ahuja is working as Lecturer in Lovely Professional University and pursuing Ph.D. Blossom Singla,  Chakshu, Ridhika Gupta, Shubham Jain are working as Lecturers in different colleges. Diksha Wadhwa is doing job as Sales Officer in Yes Bank. We are glad to mention that our student Navjot Kaur has become Upper Divisional Clerk in ESIC under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Department appreciated the efforts of Rekha Rani joined as Head Cashier in Punjab Gramin Bank. Manpreet Kaur is working as Technical Coordinator at Kotak Mohindra Bank. Our proud alumni Srishti has been selected in XLRI Delhi and she is pursuing MBA now.
