About the Department:

Established in the year 2007, the PG Department of Computer Science is a center for education at the graduate and post graduate level. The department is providing IT related services to the different departments of the college and office as per their need and requirements.

Vision: To ensure that students will be able to contribute to the society. It encourages the students to participate in the E-learning experience, give opportunities to students to work in the professional environment.

Mission: The mission of department is to provide quality education in computer applications and thereby developing new and smart generation of computer professionals with proper transformation of leadership, commitment and moral values. The students get different recruitment opportunities in various IT sectors.

The department offers course of BCA from the academic year 2007-2008 and PGDCA and M.Sc.(IT) from the academic year 2014-2015. Headed by an experienced Professor and supported by 11 dedicated faculty members. The department has its own library, 4 computer labs with internet facilities, classrooms with ICT facilities.

7. 06-10-2022  Virtual Seminar on Cyber Awareness 60 A virtual seminar on cyber awareness was held by Mr. Puneet Kumar and students were made aware about the different security issues and hacking attacks done online.  
8. 02-11-2022 Workshop on Cyber Awareness 112 The work shop was conducted by Mr. Puneet Kumar and the students were enlightened with various techniques that can be used to protect themselves from online attacks .  
9. 05-12-2022 Session on Ethical Hacking 30 A session on ethical hacking was conducted by Mr. Puneet Kumar the students were given knowledge on ethical hacking, its uses and career opportunities in it.  
10. 31-01-2023  Poster Making Competition 60 Inter class Poster making competition was held on topics- 'Cognitive Computing', 'Artificial Intelligent', 'Advances in communication & networks' and 'Image & Multimedia Processing' was held and following students got the positions:

11. 16-02-2023 Seminar on 'OTT Platform'  350 A seminar on the Topic 'Over the Top Platform' was held by the department. The resource Person Dr. Gurdas Singh imparted the knowledge about OTT Platform its working and career opportunities in it.   
12. 16-02-2023 Skit on 'Awareness of Cyber Crime' 350 Nukkad Natak was presented by students of computers Department based on cyber security awareness.  
13. 23-02-2023 Inter College Competition -- The students of computers department participated in inter college competition 'Tech Disha' held at Arya College Ludhiana and got prize in following events:

15. 04-03-2023  Workshop on Multi-Platform App UI Skills Developed: Coding In .Net and Bootstrap  92 One day workshop was held on the topic 'MULTI PLATFORM APP UI' by resource person Mr. Ravi Verma, Founder & CEO of Codekubix Software Solutions. The students were imparted practical knowledge about  coding in .NET and how to use bootstrap for website designing.

17. 09-03-2023  Workshop on 'Office Automation Tools'  78 One day workshop was held on the topic 'Office Automation Tools'. Advanced Techniques, shortcuts, smart tips and tools of Microsoft Word was taught to students with practical by resource person Dr. Gurdas Singh, Assistant Professor, GuruNanak Khalsa College Ludhiana.
