Department of Physics

Department of Physics was established in 1962. Since then department is serving college by providing quality education in the subject. The Physics department is a vital and dynamic part of any academic institution, typically found within universities or colleges. It focuses on the study of the fundamental principles governing the behavior of matter, energy, space, and time. Physics is a diverse and interdisciplinary field that encompasses a wide range of topics, from classical mechanics and electromagnetism to quantum mechanics, relativity, astrophysics, and beyond. The department is working with the mission to awaken young minds and discover their talents by providing them with best possible learning experiences through dedication to teaching, commitment to students and innovative instructional methods. The vision is to make Physics department a place ‘where today’s students meet tomorrow’s opportunities’. This department typically boasts state-of-the-art laboratories, experimental setups, and specialized equipment to support both teaching and practical activities. The department has three labs with two dark rooms fully equipped with updated equipments. Department has its own library consisting of more than 150 books which are given to needy students. Every year our students bag many positions in University exams. In latest exams conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh, our student Arsha bagged 1^st, Sakshi 4^th, Supriya Grover and Nakitika 5^th and Navpreet Kaur 10^th position in B.Sc. III Nonmedical. This speaks volume about the working environment of department.
