About the Department:
Department of Hindi has been established since 1943 in Premises of Government College for Girls, Ludhiana (Affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh). Our Vision aims at providing a comprehensive Bachelor of Arts and honors Program. The   Students   who   study   Hindi have an affinity with the most spoken language in country.  Hindi works to bind India in one thread and inculcate sense of unity and respect for language students get to know Ganga- Jamuni culture of India in a better way. In the Present Scenario of globalization there is a serious threat to our Culture and Language. Hindi literature inculcate healthy attitude towards life   amongst students. Besides this, they also learn better use of technical terminology of Hindi   Which is used in modern era. Department focuses on preparing the students for their future endeavors. They become eligible for Post graduate level education in this subject. There are    provision for higher education in this subject in foreign countries as well. Being official language many jobs are available in Government Departments. There are many opportunities available in Banks, Radio, Film and Television, Newspapers etc.  Besides Development love for this beautiful language in the students the goal of the department is to provide a wide gamut of learning and activities from creativity, Character formation, moral-value-consciousness, National integration and Communal Harmony.

2. 15.02.2022 Tribute to Subhdra kumara Chauhan (online). 100 Her Famous Poem Was on Rani Lakshshmi Bai said,”Khoob Ladi Mardani vo to Jhansi wali rani thi”. Students reminded of her contribution in Hindi Lecture.

2. 14.09.2023 Hindi Diwas 110 A poster making competition was done to boost the creative skills of the students and the topic of poem recitation was importance of Hindi and an Act was also played.
3. 11.12.2023 My Signature in my mother tongue 150 The Birth anniversary of great poet Subramaniam Bharati was celebrated as an Indian language festival on December 11, 2023. A language festival was celebrated to enjoy the beauty of language. To campaign in favour of mother tongue signatures was made by all the students in Indian language under the theme - My Signature in my mother tongue.
4. 16.01.2024 World Hindi Diwas 64 World Hindi Day was celebrated on 16 January. In which newspaper reading activity was conducted so that interest in reading news could be generated among the students. Many students participated in this activity.
5 21.02.2024 INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY 80 international  Mother Language Day was celebrated by the Hindi Department, the objective of which was to tell the students about the importance of the language.  And to tell the students about the benefits of Hindi language
